Saif Ali Khan’s Langda Tyagi To Return With A Spin-Off Of His Own
A new film will explore the back story of Langda Tyagi, the scheming villain played by Saif Ali Khan, who stole the show in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara
Vishal Bhardwaj's
2006 Shakespearean drama Omkara was a turning point for Saif Ali Khan. After
playing suave lover boys for years, here he was playing a rustic villain with a
coarse vocabulary and an even coarser appearance.
But Saif’s
character, Langda Tyagi, turned out to be the best part of the film that also
starred Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vivek Oberoi and
Bipasha Basu.
And now according
to reports, Bhardwaj is planning a spin-off of the film which will explore the
back story of Tyagi and Saif is on board.

The film is
reportedly in its pre-production stage. Along with Bhardwaj, Robin Bhatt and
Abhishek Chaubey, who directed Udta Punjab last year, will reunite to pen the
script.
This will mark
Saif's third collaboration with Bhardwaj after Omkara and the period drama
Rangoon which released this year. Saif is currently shooting for Raja Krishna
Menon's comedy drama Chef, the official Bollywood remake of Jon Favreau’s hit
of the same name.
As Saif gears up
to get into the shoes of Langda Tyagi yet again, it will be interesting to see
whether any other member of the Omkara star cast will reprise their role in the
spin-off. Will we see wife Kareena in the film too. Let’s wait and watch!
